Privacy Policy

Last updated: 9 June 2026

The short version.

Ponder keeps your journal on your device. There are no accounts, no servers that store your entries, no ads, no third-party trackers, and no analytics SDKs. We do not collect, read, or sell your reflections. Ever.

Ponder is a private reflection and journaling app. This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and the choices you have. It applies to the Ponder mobile app published by Clearpoint Studios.

Your entries stay on your device

The journal entries, moods, tags, and settings you create are stored locally on your device. They are not uploaded to us, and we do not operate a server that receives or stores your reflections. Because this data lives on your device, uninstalling the app removes it, so consider keeping your own backup of anything you want to keep.

No account needed

You do not create an account to use Ponder. We do not ask for your name, email address, or phone number to write in your journal.

App Lock and encryption

Ponder offers an optional App Lock, using your device biometrics or a PIN, and optional local encryption for your entries. These are off by default and fully under your control. They are designed to protect the data already on your device and do not send anything to us.

Reflection and AI features

Ponder's reflection features work with the entries already stored on your device to show you prompts, summaries, and patterns. Your journal content is never used for advertising and is never sold. If a future feature ever needed to process your content outside your device, it would be clearly explained and strictly opt-in before anything left your phone.

Analytics, tracking and advertising

None. Ponder contains no advertising, no advertising identifiers, no cross-app tracking, and no third-party analytics or marketing SDKs. We do not build profiles about you and we do not sell, rent, or trade your information.

Purchases

Ponder is free to use, with an optional paid upgrade, Ponder Pro. Purchases are processed by the app store on your device (Google Play). To unlock and restore Pro, we use a purchase management service (RevenueCat), which receives the purchase receipt and basic, non-identifying app and device information needed to confirm your subscription. It does not receive your journal entries or any of your reflection content. We never see or store your full payment details; the app store handles billing.

Notifications

If you allow notifications, Ponder uses them to send you optional reflection reminders. These are generated on your device. You can turn them off at any time in the app or in your device settings.

Children

Ponder is not directed to children and is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update this page and the date above. Significant changes will be made clear in the app or on this site.
